Mobile-Friendly Algorithm
Google announced that mobile-friendliness will become an important factor in mobile search results. Learn more here!
Early this year, Google announced that mobile-friendliness will become an important ranking factor in mobile search results starting April 21, 2015. This is the first time ever that Google has pre-announced an algorithm release along with a specific release date.
According to reports, it has not had a huge impact yet but “mobilegeddon” is still continuing to rollout. We expect the decline in non-mobile-friendly rankings to be significant and some large brands have already seen a decrease in their mobile search position.
We will continue to monitor the search results and measure the real impact of the algorithm but we do know one thing for sure. Businesses lacking mobile-optimized websites will lose out; not just in terms of Google’s search ranking but in potential ways to connect with customers who search for, compare, purchase, or review products and services using smartphones.
