Position Summary

In this position, you'll pose thought-provoking questions, challenge assumptions, and evaluate the risks and benefits of proposed solutions. We're looking for candidates who demonstrate strategic thinking and can grasp the bigger picture.

As a Business Analyst providing support to our project teams, you will be responsible for capturing business requirements and translating them into functional eCommerce website business specifications. Your primary duty will be to assess client business needs, objectives, challenges, and workflows. You'll extract and document comprehensive, precise business requirements through interviews, workshops, and stakeholder meetings. You will lead client discovery sessions and guide crucial strategic decisions for implementing eCommerce solutions. Additionally, you'll contribute to test planning and play a role in the design and execution of quality assurance (QA) testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality websites. Success in this role hinges on a blend of robust business insight, analytical prowess, and proficiency in eCommerce platforms and tools.

As a Project Manager, you'll lead and oversee the successful execution of eCommerce projects for a diverse range of your own dedicated client projects. In this dynamic role, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative ecommerce solutions that drive business growth. You'll serve as the client's main point of contact, providing regular updates on project status, addressing any concerns, and ensuring overall client satisfaction. As a strategic problem-solver, you'll identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track. Additionally, you'll manage project budgets, timelines, and scope to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Ensure the successful implementation of new eCommerce and support projects.
  • Manage multiple client accounts, ranging in project size and complexity, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring the successful execution of projects and tasks.
  • Overall accountability for project profit and management of client budget.
  • Regularly review project budget reports and dashboards, implementing necessary changes to ensure alignment with project objectives and financial targets.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, fostering trust and collaboration.
  • Control quality by conducting thorough reviews of all client deliverables. Ensure all deliverables meet client expectations and gain final approval for satisfactory acceptance.
  • Follow company SOPs to contribute to the delivery of consistent customer service.
  • Monitor and measure project progress and activities to identify and communicate status, potential issues, risks, or problems in a timely fashion and provide corrective action and resolution.
  • Collaborate with our Client Growth Manager to identify upsell opportunities, develop eCommerce roadmaps, and expand client relationships.
  • Proactively recommend and implement eCommerce optimizations and enhancements.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, leveraging experience in quality assurance (QA) and testing for eCommerce websites to address issues effectively. You will carefully test all completed tickets before client delivery and deployment, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
  • Participate in multiple early morning deployments per month, ensuring smooth and efficient implementation.

Business Analyst Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with clients and the project team to understand and analyze eCommerce business needs, objectives, and processes.
  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and stakeholder meetings to capture comprehensive and accurate business requirements.
  • Collaborate in solution design discussions, provide guidance on feasibility and implementation options, and ensure that proposed solutions align with business goals.
  • Translate business requirements into clear and precise functional requirements that can be understood and implemented by the development team.
  • Ensure functional requirements capture business logic, user interactions, system behaviors, and integration points.
  • Work with technical teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Consider how the web solution will scale in the future and how it will be supported.
  • Architect and outline business solutions for new website builds and complex support projects including selection of and integration with ERP and other eCommerce business systems, data migration planning, and implementation of apps, extensions, and third-party eCommerce technologies.
  • Contribute to developing test plans and test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage of business requirements.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to define test strategies, objectives, and acceptance criteria. Assist in the identification and resolution of defects during testing.
  • Leverage data analysis techniques to extract insights, identify trends, and support decision-making processes.
  • Analyze business data, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate system performance, user behavior, and the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest eCommerce technologies, best practices, and trends.

Essential Skills

  • Possesses extensive experience and comprehensive understanding of Magento and BigCommerce platforms and technology solutions.
  • 6+ years’ experience in an eCommerce business analyst and project management role working in a fast-paced professional services agency environment.
  • Ability to work with all project team members to architect technical solutions that meet business requirements. 
  • General business understanding of B2C and B2B eCommerce ecosystems and processes, including core supporting business applications such as ERP, POS, WMS, and PIM.
  • Project management and successful delivery of at least 3 to 4 new eCommerce web development builds.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle often unexpected distractions.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with the migration of eCommerce websites from one platform to another.
  • Demonstrated leadership, relationship-building, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to deliver positive and/or difficult news or updates to clients or team members, tactfully, respectfully, and professionally.
  • Cross-functional team and people management skills.
  • Ability to translate between and communicate with both technical and non-technical people.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
  • Coaching, mentoring, conflict resolution, and negotiation abilities.

Technologies

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience working with Magento, Adobe Commerce, Commerce Cloud, and BigCommerce.
  • Familiar with the Magento and BigCommerce admin and key eCommerce technology partners. 
  • Adobe and BigCommerce certifications are a bonus. 
  • Experience with Jira. 
  • Experience with eCommerce business systems, including ERP, PIM, OMS, and WMS.
